When is a good time to end a long term treatment?

Deborah Pollak Boughton, MD

When do we end a psychoanalytic treatment? What things may come up at the end of a long treatment?  How does an analytic pair decide when would be optimal? This presentation will address termination, and some of the challenges and questions that may come up when the analytic pair part ways.

Deborah Pollak Boughton, MD is a graduate of the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute. She is currently a Training and Supervising Analyst and Faculty member at the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Institute.  She has a special interest in termination, and teaches about this topic at the Institute.
