The Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (MPSI) is a training community and professional organization that provides resources, education and support to the psychoanalytic community and the public.


Dieperink Prize Writing Competition 2019

Submissions for this year’s Prize must be emailed by September 30th at 5PM. The prize goes to the best original unpublished work that might be suitable for publication in a journal. The winner will present their paper to the community early in 2020.

Members receive early notification and free or reduced admission to a variety of lectures, study groups and seminars on psychoanalytic thinking, and invitations to participate in ongoing educational opportunities.

Member benefits also include access to PEPWeb - an online resource of books and articles - as well as the opportunity to teach, serve on organization committee's and leadership, and listing on the public list of member therapists.

The MPSI Psychotherapy Center was founded in 2009 by a group of mental health clinicians and community leaders with a vision to make psychoanalytic psychotherapy more accessible and affordable for underserved populations. Conveniently located in the Uptown area of Minneapolis, the Center is accessible by car and public transportation. The Psychotherapy Center offers an alternative to other community psychological services because of its freedom from the constraints of insurance requirements and its commitment  to providing intensive services that bring long-term results.

Clinical Training Opportunities

The MPSI Psychotherapy Center is no longer accepting applications for its Fellowship and Internship Program for 2019-2020.
