"The actual relationship existing between the patient and the analyst as persons must be regarded as in itself constituting a therapeutic factor of prime importance."

Psychoanalytic thinking informs my practice of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.

I believe that psychoanalytic therapy helps us understand ourselves in our intellectual, emotional, and relational realms of experience. The process of therapy aims at integrating these different aspects of our selves so as to provide a deep experience of understanding of ourselves, both internally and interpersonally in our lives. This understanding can help us find relief of problems and distress and more satisfaction in our lives.

I practice therapy and psychoanalysis. I prescribe medication as a part of treatment if it seems likely be of help.
